solitude of ski touring, the Dachstein mountains are the perfect
destination
in which to experience all of this and much more.
The
Dachstein-West ski region, has 45 modern lifts and 140 km of
well prepared pistes. The skiing here is ideal for all levels of
skier. There are plenty of
restaurants and cosy traditional huts where you can stop for lunch and
enjoy the warm Austrian hospitality. Set amongst some of the most beautiful
scenery to be found anywhere and with a good snow record Dachstein-West is a
real hidden gem. Wide tree lined slopes with plenty of
opportunities to experience the thrill of off-piste whilst clocking up
the miles travelling from village to village. Dachstein-West is a
15 minute car journey from
Chalet Hepi.

The
Krippenstein Ski
and Freeride arena offers skiers and boarders of all capabilities the
opportunity to experience marked but unprepared routes or to
choose one of the longest, prepared Austrian pistes of 11km. The German ski and
winter sport magazine Planet Snow, has voted the Krippenstein the best
Freeride area in Europe, ahead of Cortina d'Ampezzo and Hochfuegen. The Krippenstein is
well known as an extreme winter sport destination. Bored of
beautifully groomed pistes? Looking for the greatest thrill in
adventure sports, then The Krippenstein is for you. With local
instructors ready to teach you the art of freeriding or guiding expert
freeriders safely through the awesome terrain, there is no greater
thrill than riding the white stuff! The Krippenstein
is a 5 minute car/bus journey from Chalet Hepi.
The
Loser
ski area offers high quality, exciting pistes in a snow-sure
area. Recently upgraded lifts and the varied pistes ensure
skiers of all levels a great time. Loser is a 25 minute
car journey from Chalet Hepi.
In all three of these
resorts, queues are seldom seen, each has its own individual charm and possesses
skiing opportunities for all abilities. If you want to feel like you
are really on holiday and escape all the British package holidaymakers
then this could be your destination.
Ski school is available
at all three resorts with English speaking instructors. We can help arrange skiing
or snowboarding
lessons, hire of equipment and ski passes to ensure you waste none of
your precious holiday time.
